Emma Chase is a new to me author. Sustained was a fun book. The entire book is told in a male point of view. Jake starts off as one of those guys, the ones who want to screw every woman. However, he gets a surprise and has to stop sewing his seed for a little while. Then comes Chelsea and her six kids she's raising after her brother and his wife died.

Jake is instantly attracted to her and from there, he does anything and everything for Chelsea and the 6 kids. He's an attorney, so of course the kids get into lots of trouble that he has to step in and play the lawyer. 

As far as the story of this book, I liked it. I enjoyed reading Jake and Chelsea's story. I liked the two of them together and I really liked Jake's protective nature. When the book started, I mentioned earlier that Jake was one of those guys...the ones who swear they will never settle down. For me, Jake did a 180 too fast in the story. He went from a man who just wanted to have sex with women to family man over night. It seemed a little out of character to me, but I didn't let it pull me from the story.

Because, I did in fact, enjoy the story. I found myself picking it up during my busy day, wanting to know how the story would unfold. I would read the author again, for sure.

Before you can read Easy To Love You, you have to read the first one Trying Hard Not to Love You. This one picks up where the previous one left off. While the story itself was good, dealing with the struggles that come after an accident, I didn't feel at all this book was realistic. 

First, CC is just rude to the nurse who has taken care of her son and Hunter while she was in a coma. Sure, in the end the nurse isn't who she seems, but her part really is so minor. I couldn't imagine acting the way she did. And in no time at all, CC is back on her feet, drinking and partying while her parents watch her child. I wasn't a fan of this.

I will continue to book 3 because I believe it will be Mason and Hailey's story, and I'm curious why these two just can't seem to settle down together. Book 1 and 2 took place over a span of about 18 months and these two are together and then aren't. I'm curious how much back story the author will give to show us what's been going on all these months.

So, it's been awhile since I've read the New Adult genre. I don't relate well to this genre. I was married by 21 and starting my family. I was in college when I got pregnant, much like the heroine CC in this book. However, that doesn't happen until the end.

In some ways, reading this book, I felt like I was back in high school or even young again when people are so wrapped up in themselves. I don't mean any disrespect when I say that, but when a person is 18 years old, we still feel like things revolve around if.

CC has a boyfriend, even though she's always loved another guy--her brothers' best friend Hunter. Hunter loves her too, but won't be with her because she has one brother named Mason who I just wanted to smack the crap out of. He was so against CC and Hunter, yet he was fooling around with CC's best friend Hailey. 

See...DRAMA. LOL, maybe I shouldn't mention that another brother of CC's was hooking up with Hunter's sister. 

This story was a roller coaster, but I hopped on for the ride and really enjoyed it. Sometimes it's fun to get sucked into a story and I felt like I was watching a reality show with this one. I can't wait to carry on with this series and see where I go next.

Get ready for your own treasure hunt in Treasured Secrets by Kendall Talbot.

This was a unique story. There was more to this story then just romance. As a reader you're taken on a treasure hunt. The author did a great job in her writing and I could really see her descriptions. This is a story about a second chance at love. Rosalina spent a lot of time investing in Archer but he would never fully open up to her, so she left which gave Archer the wake-up call that he needed. Rosalina isn't as easy to win back over as he would like. Her character is strong and independent. She needs to know he is really serious this time before she invests in him again.

I really enjoyed the journey this book took me on as I traveled along with them characters, getting the clues and trying to figure them out. It was a fun read. One I would recommend to someone looking for a little mystery as well as some romance. This book has a lot of story packed in, so be ready to sit down and read it from start to finish.

I really enjoyed this story by Rosa Sophia. She doesn't write your typical fluffy romance. She always has another hidden layer to her characters. What I really admired about this book was the hero. He has aspegars. She took the time to write a story with a hero that totally deserved a romance. He was different and still found love, and it made me really admire Rosa as an author.

Clara has been living with her aunt and uncle after her parents death. She's only a few weeks from being 18. Gaven, the hero is older. But this is a clean story, so nothing weird there.

Clara leaves each day to escape her uncle who abuses her in a way that is just unforgivable. I don't know how the Aunt put up with his. She had to know what her husband was up to. Not to go down that path...

Clara seeks comfort in Gaven, who doesn't know how to give comfort. Clara has never left her home, her uncle keeps her and his daughter hidden away from the world. Gaven gives her the strength to reach out for help and the courage to leave.

This was a great story. I absolutely loved it. I can't wait for Tammy's story. If she was a real person, I'd be praying for her to wisen up and find the courage she needs to get out of her bad situation.

The writing was good and the story flowed well. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a clean romance that will tug at your heart strings.

I love romances about movie stars. You'd think I followed every gossip magazine, but I don't. I just really enjoy the genre of movie stars falling for the every day person.

I really liked Nina. She was spunky and could hold her own. The hero of the story Dom was the same way. These two together made me smile. I enjoyed the chemistry between the two as Dom tried to show Nina how to change her image from the girl next door to a more bad girl.

The writer developed the characters well, the dialogue was fun and realistic. This will be an author I look for in the future when I need a story to get lost in.

Wow. This book was something. At first, I wasn't sure I could ever see myself liking the hero of the story Dax. He was a lot to take it. A definite troubled soul. As the story progressed, I found myself smiling about his caveman ways. He took alpha male to a whole new level, but he was bound and determined to win Clara.

There is a lot of depth to this story. It wasn't just another "girl resist boy until she can't resist him any longer" kinda story. There is some serious baggage between both Clara and Dax that is connected from their child hood. Ms. Bliss threw a curveball at the end I was surprised I didn't pick up on.

I really enjoyed this story, and was thrilled to learn she will be writing more characters from that we met in this story. A big thumbs up to the author, I think she did a great job with this one.

Where do I start? I loved this book. It's one of those that you can't put down. I read the first in the series and was so excited when this one released. You don't need to read book 1 to enjoy this one.

Pheobe and Jonathan have a history that only one of them remembers. They spent one night together and Pheobe ends up pregnant, but never tells Jonathan. He's always in the tabloids and she's watched him for 11 years. It gets interesting when the two are placed on a reality show together--just the two of them on a deserted island. Jonathan has no idea who she is.

This is when the fun starts. As the reader, we know the secret. The chemistry between Pheobe and Jonathan is as strong as it was the night they'd met. He's instantly read to throw away his playboy ways for her because right away, he feels differently for her then any other woman. Pheobe stays strong somehow, never telling her secret that she has been raising their daughter all these years.

The writing is strong. The dialogue is realistic. And the story line is intriguing. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

What a book.... This story will touch you from the inside and leave you feeling emotional in all sorts of ways. I must admit, when I first started the book, I had to put it down. Not because it was bad, but when I'm faced to think about death, it sends me into a panic attack. For me, I struggle not knowing what comes next. Just the idea that one day I won't be alive frightens me. I set this story aside for a little and read a few other books, but I knew I would come back to the story--don't get me wrong. Once I was ready to continue the story, I didn't turn back.

The heroine Avery goes through so much in her life. More heartache than one woman should go through. And when love did come knocking on her door again, I couldn't blame her for rejecting it. To lose a husband and go through almost losing her daughter months later, I'm not sure I could ever let someone in again myself. When Avery does let Nick in and finds she is attracted to him, then she has to deal with guilt--as though she is cheating on her deceased husband.

If you're looking for a sappy, light romance, you're not gonna get that here. Instead you're going to read a story that's going to get you thinking. How would you handle the cards that were given to Avery? This story will make you think. This story will probably even make you cry. But this story is one worth reading and having as a keeper on your bookshelf to share with friends.

The writing was good. The story flowed well. At times, I felt a few scenes dragged, but it might have just been my comfort zone. We spend a lot of time with her daughter Hannah as she's in the hospital. The auther makes this real, and as the reader I felt like I was going through it all with Hannah and Avery--which may be why I wanted to see Hannah go home so bad. I wanted out of the hospital myself. lol

I picked up the first book in this series for 3 reasons. One, I just signed with the publisher and I wanted to check out some of their books. Two, it looked different and I needed a little change. Three, it was FREE. Who doesn't like free?

I loved this book. It sucked me in and I had to find out what happened. The heroine of the story, Mattie, is a foster kid who can see ghosts. After a near death experience as a child (her mom tried to kill her by stabbing), she has the ability to see ghosts, but she pretends they aren't there until her foster sister comes to her.

No one wants to believe her when she tells people her sister has been kidnapped because the girl has run away from foster homes before. One adult officer named Dan does believe Mattie, and together they begin to solve the crime of what happened to her foster sister and the other kids that have been coming to her. Turns out, there is a serial killer on the loose.

This is a young adult book and there is no romance in it. There is a lot of suspense, and you'll be flipping the pages to see what comes next. I will say, I had a pretty good idea who the killer was from the beginning. It could be that I'm a writer myself, so I can get into an authors head and know where they are going. The book is being made into a movie and I can see why. The author, Apryl Baker, tells a very good story. Her writing flows well. I will definitely be picking up the next in the series to see what kind of adventure Mattie has next.

Breaking The Silence in the second book in Hard Drive series by Tricia Andersen. I've not yet read book 1, however, the books don't need to be read in order.

I must admit, the hero, Rico, was hard to handle at the beginning of the book. He was very arrogant and full of himself. Meeting Avery changed that about him. He began to mellow out and come back down to earth. Avery was important to him from the moment he saw her. He needed to connect with her, some way.

This was where the challenge comes in. Avery is deaf. So getting her to like him is harder, especially when she confesses she doesn't like celebrities...and he's a sport MMA celebrity. He decided to keep this to himself.

I had a few issues in the book with the amount of people who knew how to sign and how quickly Rico was able to learn. It felt like overnight he could not only sign, but understand completely everything Avery was ever able to say. Avery also didn't read lips. I have a dear friend who is deaf. She doesn't sign, she reads lips. She says people expect her to accommodate them, and in this book, the world seemed to accommodate Avery. Though, wouldn't it be nice if we did try to accommodate others better. Maybe the author is on to something. It just seemed like Avery would have been more independent if she read lips. I didn't fully understand how she did certain parts of her life without knowing how to do this.

I found the writing to be good. The author did a good job creating the story and keeping it interesting from start to finish. This is a sweet romance, so no steamy scenes. Just a good, clean romance.

I will be going back and reading the first book in the series.

When I sat down with this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. I love Bonnie Bliss, but Bonnie Bliss is the pen name for a husband and wife writing together. R. Kirk is the husband and this was his first book that he wrote on his own. Right away, I knew I had to read it because it would give me an idea how each of the authors think.

This book is dark. There are several point of views to keep up with, and I honestly never knew who I was rooting for. You see, there are several clans of werewolves in this one area. Apparently one clan isn't as pure...without giving away too much. Only these wolves aren't like the ones you read about in romance stories. They eat each other. Ick. And there is no talking or reasoning...it's each for themselves, no matter who gets hurt in the process.

We get to see both sides of the story, and even at the end of this book, I wasn't sure who I wanted to win. I felt bad for both sides, as well as disliked people from each side.

I found this book to be well written. I enjoyed R. Kirk's writing style. He definitely knows how to create a dark tale that left me thinking. I look forward to seeing where he takes this series. 

I loved this book. The cover drew me in. From the moment I saw the author post this cover, I wanted to read it--even though I hadn't read the blurb. You see...you can judge a book by it's cover. :)

This was one of those books, once I sat down to read it, I couldn't stop. I would've read it through in one sitting had life not interrupted me.

Sophie and Damien find they are attracted to each other before they even meet. Their relationships spark over a phone conversation at Damien's sister's bakery. Damien isn't looking to date after an accident that made him look guilty to the media, as well as a scar across his face. However, he takes a chance with Sophie. Then begins a number of dates set in the dark.

Being an author myself, this concept of dating in the dark brought all kinds of story ideas to my already packed brain. I think Ms. Rogers is onto something fun in the world of dating. Perhaps she'll explore more dates in the dark in future stories.

This is the first book in a new series from Tracey Rogers. I'm thrilled for her to write more. She introduced some characters - mainly Vanessa who has something going on in the background of this book. I'm super curious what it is.

I recommend this book!

It's been awhile since I've read a historical romance. Susanna Fraser is a new author to me. I liked her writing style. It was easy to read and kept my attention. 

This is a shorter story - roughly 27,000 words. The story felt complete and well written. No details were left out and I felt like I got as much detail as I would a full length.

This is a second chance story, which is a favorite trope of mine. Lady Catherine's first taste of love is with Gabe, however, he isn't anyone in her ranks. So he is sent away and she spends a few years trying out different suitors. Finally Anthony comes in to her life and he's someone she can live with. They are due to be married when Gabe comes back into her life.

The moment the two see each other, the chemistry is back. The conflict comes in when Lady Cat says she won't back down from her engagement since Anthony has been left at the alter before.

There is a nice twist to the story that made me smile. This was a entertaining read and perfect for a quiet evening when you want to get lost in a good story.

I'd recommend this book to my friends who enjoy historical romance. If you're not a big Christmas reads fan (like me), then this one is pretty tame. You will forget you're reading a holiday novella.
